I've fallen in love with a stretch of road near my home. At least three levels of overpasses cross each other at different levels to create this gorgeous curving road sculpture. I love driving on the bottom level of road; the feeling of all the other curves swirling above me feels beautiful and peaceful.

We took a walk through McKinney State Park today and I took cool photos there of the waterfalls and tree roots at the water's edge. But this photo is my favorite for the day -- a happy accident, the first photo of the day, of a wilting tulip on our dining table.

How often do I race past my freshest ideas, looking for the more refined project or more "picture-perfect" set-up?

This photography project connects me, more and more, with my loose hand, my messy brain, my utterly fantastic failure, within which hides my genius.

Well, this happened in my town today: plane crashes intentionally into building (this photo unrelated). I read about it in the morning, looked at three photos, said a prayer for everyone to be safe, then turned off the news. I've taken in enough images like that for ten lifetimes.

We got a modest fire going in our cauldron, pulled the electric guitar and amp outside, and sat and sang in the surprising cold for hours.

 "Gando Lervy" is an invented name for the sublimely ridiculous antics the four of us get up to when we're together. When these kids roll into town, anything can and will happen.

We walked around downtown after the three-hour class on writing a business plan. Our brains thrummed with ideas while our bodies got tired. How do you find focus when you're drained?
